Millworker The Documentary
40-minute video documentary • Filmed, directed & edited by Linda Booker ©2005
MILLWORKER The Documentary chronicles the creation and year-long production of the play Millworker™ (©2003) written by Ellen Bland and Drew Lasater and directed by Ellen Bland.
“Not everyone would have seen the potential in the work of local kids and musicians laboring to tell the story of their millworker ancestors. Linda Booker did. With her deft use of filmed interviews with cast members, scenes captured from performances across North Carolina and comments from audience members and former millworkers, she has preserved what could have been lost when the lights dimmed on closing night. Thanks to her, Millworker will have the permanence it deserves.” – Dennis Rogers, columnist The News & Observer
MILLWORKER The Documentary DVDs are now available exclusively at the ChathamArts gallery in downtown Pittsboro. The DVD includes Linda Booker's short documentary
Clyde & Mikhail. All proceeds from the sales of DVDs will benefit Chatham Arts, the arts council of Chatham County.
